“Kueng / Gueng” — What Does It Really Mean?

กึง = Keung / Geung

You’ve probably learned the term “gay keung” already. It refers to a gay man who appears feminine in behavior, but when out in public, acts composed and masculine, even though he still has a feminine side.

So the word “keung / geung” means putting on an act, posing, acting cool, or maintaining a certain image.

Note: Since Thai doesn’t have a fixed system for writing in Roman letters, sometimes the Thai consonant “ก” (kor kai) can be represented as either K or G.
