Mint Talk with Faye
Faye: Hello, Mint Magazine! This is Faye, and welcome to Mint Talk: My First Time.
Q: Your first email address?
Faye: My first email definitely had something like FayeZa @ hotmail dot com in it. Back then, everyone had to have words like “Za” or “TomKun” in their email addresses. I copied my friends. If you didn’t have those words, you were considered totally out of trend.
(“Za” was an iconic Thai teen slang word meaning cool, sassy, and full of attitude.)
Q: Did you have an email account in elementary school?
Faye: No, I got my first email account in secondary school.
Q: Were you still “za” back then?
Faye: Oh, absolutely. Still very “za.”
Q: Did you have Hi5?
Faye: Of course! You had to decorate your profile page.
Q: Was your Hi5 “za” too?
Faye: Extremely.
If I could go back and look at it now, people would never stop teasing me. That was my dark age.
You had to take photos from a high angle like this. (demonstrates holding the camera above her head)
And your hair had to be spiky.
Q: The classic mullet haircut?
Faye: Exactly! We grew up in the same era.

Q: What was the first movie you watched in a cinema?
Faye: I honestly can’t remember. Can I count movies I watched at relatives’ houses?
I grew up in a provincial area, so I didn’t go to cinemas often.
I remember watching Terminator. I was terrified. There was a scene with a long metal spike, and after watching it I couldn’t sleep or even take a shower. It traumatized me.
Q: Your first pet?
Faye: Do you mean the family’s pet or my own pet?
My first personal pet was a Thai dog named Mudmee.
She had lots of ticks. I was in high school then and had to save money to pay for her vaccinations.
Eventually my mom sent her to stay with relatives because I couldn’t focus on anything else. Whenever I got home, all I wanted to do was spend time with my dog.
Q: Who gave her to you?
Faye: My aunt did. She rescued her.
She was just a tiny puppy, and I loved her so much.
I named her myself. The funny thing is, I gave her a girl’s name even though she was actually male. It made me happy.
Q: Your first heartbreak?
Faye: Oh my! (laughs)
Believe it or not, it wasn’t a puppy love story.
It was actually a CD.
I listened to “Za San San” by D2B every single day, and one day the CD got scratched and wouldn’t play anymore.
Q: You were heartbroken?
Faye: Completely devastated.
I couldn’t even find a replacement.
Q: Which member of D2B did you like?
Faye: P’Dan.
I played their songs so loudly every day that the roof practically shook.
Then one day I wasn’t careful when storing the CD.
Q: Favorite song?
Faye: “Za San San”(ซ่าส์…สั่นๆ) I loved that song.
Q: Your first entertainment industry job?
Faye: Fa Mee Ta.
Wait, actually no.
I appeared as an extra before that.
I’m not telling you where, though, because you’ll go search for it.
That was during my era of dark eye makeup and pale pink lips.
Let’s just say I was an extra.
Q: What was your character like?
Faye: Sweet and well-behaved.
That’s enough. Cut! Cut!
I had to wear pink lipstick.
The people who could actually pull off that color were P’Aum and P’Film.
Q: The first haircut you ever gave someone?
Faye: I cut Pam’s hair.
At the time I hadn’t studied hairdressing yet.
It ended up looking like a bowl cut.
Later, when I actually learned hairdressing, I discovered that it’s one of the hardest hairstyles to do properly.
I have to admire Pam’s courage for letting me cut her hair.
And she never even tried to fix it afterward.
It was terrible.
That experience made me realize I really needed to study properly.
If I hadn’t, it would have been a disaster.
Pam trusted me and let me do it.
Since that day, though, she has never allowed me to cut her hair again.
Even after I studied abroad and became professionally trained, she still won’t let me touch her hair.
The memory is that strong.
Q: The first time you met Atom?
Faye: We first met when she came to audition.
I couldn’t really look at her.
What kind of person smiles from the moment they walk through the door?
She was so bright and cheerful.
It was like a flash of light.
I thought, “She’s so cute.”
Q: Did your impression change after getting to know her?
Faye: Not at all.
She’s exactly the same as she was on day one.
She’s always bright and cheerful and makes everyone around her smile.
After working together, no matter how tired or hot things got, I never once heard her complain.
She would always say, “I’m okay,” or “I can do it.”
Acting in a series was her dream.
She has so much passion for it.
That really impressed me.
Q: Your first Mint Magazine photoshoot?
Faye: It was so much fun.
Even though we were wearing high-end fashion brands, we could still be playful and energetic.
I think it was the photoshoot where I talked the most.
The entire team gave off such great energy.
It never felt quiet or awkward.
Mint is also the magazine that photographed me with red hair this year.
I absolutely love red hair.
I’ve had it before, but because of work I always had to dye it back.
After finishing the series, I dyed it red again immediately.
I love coloring my hair.
It requires bleaching and chemicals, but I still want to do it.
After red, I want to try orange, blue, ash gray, and all kinds of colors.
The kind of colors that a supposedly “well-behaved” person like me would choose.
If my mom saw them…
She probably wouldn’t know what to say.
I’m her proud creation, after all.
