Love Beyond Gender: Faye & Atom on the Power of GL Stories

VOGUE Thailand Interview with Faye & Atom

Faye and Atom: Hello, VOGUE Thailand.

Faye: I’m Faye Peraya.

Atom: And I’m Atom Pariya.

Faye

Faye: A GL series is really no different from any other type of series. It represents love that is not limited by gender—whether it’s women loving women, men loving men, or a man and a woman. A GL series is simply an expression of women experiencing and expressing love, and sharing those emotions with the audience.

Whether it’s GL, BL, or a heterosexual romance, they’re all fundamentally the same. They all portray love, expressing love, and caring for one another in different ways.

Atom Pariya

Atom: I’ve always appreciated it, and when I had the opportunity to enter this industry, I was very happy. We get to portray genuine feelings and sincere love—love that isn’t restricted by any particular form or category. It feels wonderful to see love exist and be celebrated among people of all genders.

Faye: Every series requires attention to detail and thoughtful storytelling. A good series should present the truth of its characters as completely and authentically as possible.

Most importantly, every character has their own reasons and motivations. That’s why the storyline and character depth become so compelling. I think that’s one of the key reasons audiences continue to follow these stories.

The plot, the production, and every element that comes together to create a series all contribute to making it special.

Faye

Atom: The world today is also much more open-minded than before. I think that makes it easier for audiences to connect with and relate to our series.

Faye: For me, I’m not only an actress but also a producer. What will continue to drive the GL industry forward is sincerity in our work and the quality of the productions we create.

These are the things that allow fans across Asia and around the world to see the GL industry evolving and growing in a positive direction.

It’s not just about my own projects. I also have to keep adapting, improving, and evolving with trends and changing times. At the same time, I don’t want to lose the essence of GL storytelling, its sensitivity, authenticity, and sincerity.

When audiences can truly feel that sincerity through our work, it’s incredibly rewarding. Whether in front of the camera or behind the scenes, all of these efforts help move the GL industry forward.

Atom Pariya

Atom: I feel that the GL industry is growing, and it’s growing very well. I hope it continues to reach audiences all over the world.

As for how I can support that growth, we constantly pay attention to feedback. We always look at how people respond to our series and read the comments from viewers.

We want to learn, improve, and continue creating better work so that the GL industry can go even further in the future.
