- Kasalong — sweet, gentle, and kind-hearted
- Songpeep — hot-tempered, aggressive, and constantly angry
- Prim — a modern, confident older sister
- Ghost Kasalong — a haunting spirit driven by resentment and revenge
Now, the phrase “Kasalong Songpeep” specifically comes from the twin sisters in the 1924 storyline.
At first, you might think they are loving siblings.
Absolutely not.
The entire story is basically them verbally attacking each other nonstop and emotionally destroying one another until everything collapses into tragedy.
So nowadays, Thai people use the phrase “Kasalong Songpeep” jokingly in many contexts.
For example:
Someone says:
“Our workplace is like family. We all take care of each other like siblings.”
Then another person teases:
“Siblings… like Kasalong Songpeep, right?”
Meaning:
“Yeah, sure… siblings who secretly want to kill each other.”
Another example:
“OMG, we dressed exactly the same today!”
And the other person replies:
“Kasalong Songpeep.”
Meaning:
“We may look alike on the outside… but internally we are completely different.”
That’s why the way Atom responded to Faye was actually a playful comeback joke.
